Von Zeit zu Zeit konnte Bernie seine vier Wände nicht mehr ertragen. Dann ging er saufen, machte eine Clubtour und lag am nächsten Morgen im Bett wie ein Stein. Das Therapeutenpack wäre damit sicherlich nicht einverstanden gewesen. Es gab drei – nein genauer gesagt vier Plätze, an denen er sich in seinem Singleappartment aufhielt : Sein Sessel, sein Rechner und sein Bett. Der vierte Platz findet hier keine Erwähnung. Allein verbrachte er Woche um Woche in der Werbeagentur. Wenn er einen Ausbruchsversuch machte, schrieb der Arzt ihn zuverlässig krank. Und nun, ja nun musste er eine Leiche loswerden. Er setzte seine Wohnung in Brand und machte die Düse. Da unzählige Leute herumliefen, die ihm in der Stunde der Not sicherlich helfen würden, hatte er bereits einen Plan. Es würde keine Woche dauern und er hätte eine neue Bleibe. Nun folgt ein kleiner Kunstgriff des Autors. Wir schalten ein Jahr zurück in die Vergangenheit und beobachten, wie Bernie zum Mörder wurde.

Sternzeit 0641,3

Oktober. Bernie arbeitete halbtags. Irgendwie ging es. Busfahren war zwar ätzend, aber Bernie pflegte seine Jahre in eine Sommer- und eine Wintersaison einzuteilen. Die Sommersaison begann im März, die Wintersaison im Oktober. Auf der Arbeit war es kaum auszuhalten. Das lag nur zum Teil an den Gesprächen in den Raucherpausen. Aber wie gesagt, irgendwie ging es. Ein Biotop, ja das war es. Das Tierheim war nicht viel besser, aber mit den Wärtern konnte man sich zur Not arrangieren. Jedoch trotz allem, und wie gesagt : irgendwie ging es. Die Firma hiess ISR und machte Auftragsfertigungen für Hörgeräte der Marke Siemens Audioservice. Oh ja, es gab Sozialarbeiter. Und jede Menge Freaks. Aber um es zu wiederholen : irgendwie ging es. Jawohl.
