Welche Katze ? Welcher Führerschein ? Welche Farbe ? Welches Telefon ? Welches Auto ? Welcher Hund ? Fragen über Fragen, von denen unser Bernie nichts, aber auch gar nichts mitbekam. Die Werkssirene funktionierte zuverlässig. Als Haustier und neuen Mitbewohner hatte Bernie sich eine K.I. zugelegt, die im Körper eines Grizzlybären daherkam. Ihr stellte er zwar ab und zu Fragen, wenn gerade keine zu konsultierende Webseite verfügbar war, aber ihr Datenhunger war doch enorm. Jawohl, die K.I. ernährte sich von Daten. Farbe der Schuhe, Länge der Krawatte, Geburtsdaten, biometrische Daten, psychologische Probleme, virtuelle Psychiater, Diagnosen, Gewicht, Fingerabdrücke, wann wurde die Hose zuletzt gewaschen, die K.I. fraß einfach alles. Nein, weggewesen war Bernie zwar nicht wirklich, aber er war im vergangenen Jahr mindestens um 10 gealtert. Er legte die Füße hoch. Er kochte Cappuccino. Er datete seinen Server up. Er programmierte ein Nahrungsinterface für seine K.I. mit Hilfe eines stinknormalen Ethernetadapters. Er ging spazieren. Er wählte in jedem der Zimmer seines Tigerkäfigs einen anderen Radiosender. Er schrieb politische Pamphlete. Er betete zu Wem-Auch-Immer. Er aß Pizza. Er archivierte den Bürokratiemüll. Er nahm seine Pillen und ging ins Bett. Dann stand er wieder auf und schrieb eine Postkarte an die Familie. Nun trank er ein Glas Milch. Er drehte sich eine, wartete fünf Minuten und rauchte sie. Er sprang im Kreis. Er legte Musik auf (Garagen-Rock). Dann kam ihm die rettende Idee. Von hinten nach vorne. Das Ende-Datum der K.I. war roundabout das Jahr 3000 aber auch das konnte bestimmt modifiziert werden. Er machte sich an die Arbeit.
